Scope of Practice
Georgia permits licensed physicians (MDs and DOs), dentists, nurse practitioners (NPs), physician assistants (PAs), and registered nurses (RNs) to perform aesthetic injectable procedures, including botox and dermal filler treatments, within their respective scopes of practice.
Georgia is a restricted practice state for nurse practitioners. NPs must maintain a protocol agreement with a supervising physician in order to practice, including when performing injectable aesthetic treatments such as botox and dermal fillers. This requirement is enforced by the Georgia Composite Medical Board. Physician assistants must also work under physician supervision. Registered nurses in Georgia may administer aesthetic injectables only under the direct delegation and supervision of a licensed physician, as regulated by the Georgia Board of Nursing, and may not independently perform these procedures.
Georgia practitioners should confirm their scope of practice with the relevant state licensing board and ensure they have completed proper training — such as Empire Medical Training's CME-accredited certification courses — before providing injectable aesthetic services to patients.

Botox training refers to the educational process of learning injection techniques, facial anatomy, patient assessment, and complication management. Certification is the formal credential you receive upon successfully completing an accredited training program. Empire Medical Training's botox courses in Georgia combine both — you receive comprehensive hands-on training with live patients under physician supervision, along with a nationally recognized certification and CME (Continuing Medical Education) credits upon completion. The certification validates your competency and is recognized by employers, insurance companies, and patients as proof of your professional training in aesthetic injectables.
