Cosmetic Hands-On Sclerotherapy Vein Treatments and Injection Techniques

sclerotherapy training

Sclerotherapy Training

Improved techniques, new and safer sclerosing agents, and high patient demand for in-office aesthetic procedures makes Sclerotherapy Training for nurses and physicians a great way for any physician practice to expand their services. Over 80 million Americans suffer from unsightly venous disease, and the vast majority (75%) of these are cosmetic in nature. You will understand and be able to treat these issues upon completion of our training. Modern sclerotherapy methods are safe, effective, and do not cause substantial discomfort for patients. Sclerotherapy by injection simply uses small amounts of detergent solutions to irritate the vein walls in order to achieve the ultimate closure of the unwanted vein.

Cosmetic laser centers and vein clinics perform these procedures not only because they are lucrative and simple to perform, but also because their patients receive impressive results using both laser vein therapies and sclerotherapy using FDA approved detergent sclerosants. Our comprehensive sclerotherapy training will take you from consulting the prospective patient to using the latest techniques and protocols.

UPCOMING WORKSHOPS
DATES & LOCATIONS

Perfecting your techniques in sclerotherapy requires not only a thorough understanding of how to perform these techniques but also hands-on training. A significant portion of the training is spent practicing injection techniques on live patients so that you feel comfortable performing these procedures on patients after the program.

SCLEROTHERAPY TRAINING
WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this Sclerotherapy Training program, physicians should be able to:

  • Practice procedures such as cosmetic sclerotherapy injections competently, safely, and effectively for their patients. Each graduate will understand how to avoid risks and associated complications.
  • Apply and understand the generally accepted protocols for the administration of the (2) FDA Approved sclerosants for aesthetic indications (i.e. unwanted arterioles, telangiectasias, and reticular veins). Follow the proper guidelines for acquisition, patient charting, administration issues (i.e. medical intake forms, informed consents), and the corrective measures for adverse events.
  • Describe the mechanism of action and basic venous anatomy, differences between the product characteristics, managing expectations, and accepted after-care for follow-up after the sclerotherapy procedure.
  • Identify who is a proper candidate for the aesthetic sclerotherapy procedure, patient benefits, and provide education concerning the development of unwanted veins and other environmental reasons for their development. Increase patient awareness and offer enhanced patient care in relation to the management of these unwanted leg and facial veins.

Additional Learning Objectives

  • Evaluate and identify the potential patient with aesthetic and/or medical requests and perform aesthetic Sclerotherapy techniques- needle and laser light solutions available.
  • Understand the FDA Approved medicines for the sclerosing of both reticular veins and telangiectasias.
  • Practice administering FDA Approved sclerosants and gain the technical skills to perform the various Sclerotherapy procedures through hands-on training.
  • Review the medical protocols to treat reflux in leg veins using injection sclerotherapy and the various laser options and/or intense pulsed light therapies used for facial veins and leg veins.
  • Identify generally accepted diagnostic solutions for patients with venous incompetence and review specific diagnostic studies and the importance of ultrasound, vein mapping, and other non-invasive studies as it relates to patients indicated with venous insufficiency or incompetence.
  • Review the importance of post treatment compression for the destruction of reticular veins as well as patient comfort.
  • Implement specific strategies for marketing and practice growth through patient referrals, website marketing opportunities, and marketing to your present patient base.
