About Dr. Bongiorno
Dr. Peter Bongiorno, ND, LAc is a licensed naturopathic doctor and licensed acupuncturist whose mission is to improve health using the most natural means possible. In practice since 2003, he maintains clinics in New York City and Long Island and works virtually with patients around the world, bringing a blend of compassion and intelligent common sense to individualized, root-cause care.
Before training in naturopathic medicine and acupuncture at Bastyr University, Dr. Bongiorno was a research assistant at Yale School of Medicine and the NIH's National Institute of Mental Health in the department of Clinical Neuroendocrinology — where he studied how inflammation and stress affect the brain. That foundation in the science of toxicity, inflammation, and chronic disease is exactly what he brings to Empire's curriculum and to the heavy metals guides he medically reviews in the Anti-Aging Resource Center.
