Who is the Center of Excellence Training Course Intended for?

Admissions to Empire Medical Training are open to licensed healthcare professionals, including physicians, dentists, and nurses authorized to perform injection procedures. Prospective participants are encouraged to check with their respective licensing boards to determine eligibility for performing these procedures in their practice. For individuals who are not licensed healthcare professionals, participation is limited to observational learning through demonstrations of how these procedures are performed.

Course Details

The goal of the training is to provide the participant with proper training on the technique and training to avoid and treat complications using proven standards of care and methods accepted by the Plastic Surgery community. As a physician or practitioner performing cosmetic injection techniques, you must become proficient in all aspects of the technique as you will be held to the same standard as a plastic surgeon performing the same technique.

For the past years, Empire has worked diligently with our team of Plastic Surgeons and Aesthetic Physicians around the country to create Centers of Excellence (COE) to serve as training centers and practice centers where students of varying skills can hone their skills in Botox and Dermal Filler Cosmetic injections.

The Centers of Excellence (COE) will serve to provide the most complete education not only on the medical procedures themselves but on the Clinical Pearls and business strategies that have made these local practitioners great injectors and highly sought-after Aesthetic Physicians in their local communities.

Empire has utilized our expansive resources that have been cultivated over the past years to develop a network of Plastic Surgeon instructors and the associated training facilities to accommodate our valued members.

Empire Medical Training is proud to work with the very best Physician instructors in Aesthetics. Our Aesthetics instructors are primarily Plastic Surgeons and Aesthetic Specialists who currently operate thriving Aesthetic practices. Due to Empire's longstanding reputation as the leader in providing Aesthetic education, these top docs are happy to work with Empire and teach our practitioners.

Convenience: For Practitioners in these cities, there is the significant advantage of participating in a training program in your home town. In the next 12 months, we anticipate having significantly expanded these Centers of Excellence to include additional cities in the USA.

Volunteer Models: Attendees are welcome to bring their volunteers; however, Empire provides models for all attendees to perform a variety of Botox and Dermal Filler techniques training.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of the course each attendee will:

Learn to perform advanced procedures for medical and aesthetic Botulinum Toxin injections and HA dermal filler competently, safely, and effectively.
Learn proprietary techniques and procedures from expert Physician instructors that have created unique advantages for their success in Aesthetics
Gain a thorough understanding of how to avoid potential risks associated with cosmetic injections and treat complications should they occur.
Apply the generally accepted protocols for the administration of FDA-approved Botulinum Toxin treatments for various aesthetic and medical conditions (i.e. orofacial pain, hyperhidrosis) as well as aesthetically administer HA and Non-HA dermal filler for differing aesthetic patient conditions.
Learn the proper guidelines for the acquisition, patient charting, administration issues (i.e.. Medical intake forms, informed consents), and the corrective measure for adverse events.
Describe and identify the mechanism of action, differences in product characteristics, patient education, and who is the ideal candidate for other aesthetic, medical, and pain conditions for indications such as Bruxism, migraine headache, various facial atrophies, and other facial pain indications who will maximally benefit from Botulinum toxin injection and Dermal Filler injections and will also acquire the technical skills to perform such treatments.

Registration.

9:00am–9:30am

Introduction. Overview of Botulinum Toxin-A product characteristics, mechanism of action, current applications, Regulations, and FDA Approved Applications.

9:30am-10:00am

Review the Consultation Process for new patients and be able to communicate expected results associated with Botulinum Toxin procedures. Differentiate which injection techniques and areas will satisfy patient needs and aesthetic concerns. Learn how to properly mark facial zones for injection, pertinent anatomy, and understand reconstitution and storage of the medication as well as administrative issues for integrating these new procedures.

10:15am-11:30am

Review suggested dosing schedules, injection type and possible injection patterns for upper and lower facial areas including indications for Crow's Feet, Forehead Lines, Worry Lines, Hypertrophic Platysmal Banding, and excessive sweating (Hyperhidrosis) using the latest guidelines safely and effectively for differing patient presentations.

Review Medical and Relative Contraindications, Adverse Events, and possible correction of asymmetries.

12:00pm-1:00pm

Lunch

Pertinent Anatomy of facial areas, skin, and the use of HA dermal fillers for the correction and rejuvenation of age-related conditions. Discuss the wide range and types of Dermal Fillers approved by the FDA used to augment different facial areas. Review the Rheology of all the FDA Approved HA and Non-HA dermal fillers for viscosity, elasticity, and product duration.

2:15pm-3:30pm

Learn the various injection techniques used to correct the most common facial indications presented by patients and how to treat these areas effectively with dermal fillers. Review anesthesia options, pertinent anatomy, understand possible aesthetic and medical complications, and areas of adherence in applying dermal fillers. Understand treatment guidelines and generally accepted protocols for the following areas; Lip definition, Lip Augmentation, Nasolabial Folds (NLF), Marionette Lines, and Cheek Bone and Cheek Malar Augmentation Procedures.

3:30pm-6:00pm

Small group break-out sessions utilizing “live” patients. Empire attendees will be required to successfully administer Botox and HA Fillers to show proficiency during the treatment for various injection techniques in order to receive certification.
