Empire's Combination Therapies PDO course teaches nurses how to integrate thread lifting with other aesthetic modalities for results that exceed any single treatment. You will learn strategic treatment sequencing, combination protocols pairing PDO threads with Botox, fillers, and biostimulators, and the clinical reasoning behind multi-modality treatment planning. For nurses ready to offer comprehensive facial rejuvenation rather than isolated procedures, this program delivers the integrative expertise that premium practices demand.
Perform combination treatments on live patients — pairing PDO thread placements with strategic filler augmentation, neurotoxin relaxation, and biostimulator application. Develop the clinical judgment to determine optimal treatment sequencing and combination ratios for different patient presentations.
Study how threads interact with fillers at tissue level, optimal timing between modalities, synergistic collagen stimulation pathways, and the contraindications specific to combination approaches. Master the clinical protocols that maximize treatment synergy while minimizing complication risk.
Navigate the elevated safety considerations of multi-modality treatments within nursing scope. Learn timing restrictions, interaction-specific complications, and emergency protocols unique to combination approaches that single-modality training does not cover.
Combination PDO protocols command $3,000-$8,000+ per treatment session — significantly more than individual procedures. Nurses who offer integrated treatments attract premium patients, generate higher per-visit revenue, and build reputations for delivering transformative results.
Course Highlights
As a nurse advancing into multi-modality aesthetics, combination PDO therapy training positions you to deliver superior outcomes by integrating threads with other treatments. These highlights show how the course builds integrative clinical expertise.
Curriculum Highlights
Master essential techniques and protocols through our comprehensive, CME-accredited curriculum designed for nurses & nurse practitioners.
Designed for Nurses
Nurses and NPs bring exceptional patient care skills, clinical assessment capabilities, and bedside manner to aesthetic and procedural medicine. These transferable competencies make nurses natural fits for injectable procedures, pain management interventions, and regenerative therapies. Adding procedural skills opens pathways to higher compensation, practice ownership, and career independence.
Registered Nurses (RNs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are among the fastest-growing segments in aesthetic and procedural medicine. NPs in most states have independent or collaborative prescriptive authority, enabling them to administer neurotoxins, dermal fillers, and other injectable treatments. RNs can perform these procedures under physician supervision or collaborative agreements, depending on state regulations. Empire Medical Training's programs are designed to equip both RNs and NPs with the hands-on clinical skills and certification they need to practice confidently within their scope.
Upon completion, nurses receive a CME/CE-accredited certificate of completion recognized by state nursing boards nationwide. Credits apply toward license renewal and specialty credentialing requirements.

Licensed healthcare professionals, including MDs, DOs, DMDs, DDS, NPs, PAs, and RNs with prior injectable experience. This is not an introductory course — it is designed for advanced aesthetic practitioners with prior training in aesthetic injections and/or thread procedures.
No. This is a non-CME advanced certification program. Participants receive an Empire Medical Training Certificate of Completion documenting their training in comprehensive face and body-contouring combination therapies.
Yes. Participants will observe live models and perform limited hands-on procedures under supervision. The course format includes pre-course study, live Q&A, demonstrations, and limited hands-on instruction.
It combines every major non-surgical aesthetic modality — injectables, threads, PRP/PRF, and energy devices — into a single integrated curriculum focused on real-world application. Both facial combination protocols and body contouring techniques are covered in one program.
The course covers hyperdilute Sculptra and Radiesse for body skin tightening and lifting, PDO threads for knees, arms, abdomen, buttocks, and decolletage, PRP/PRF combinations for cellulite reduction, and device integration with RF, micro-focused ultrasound, HIFEM, 1064 YAG laser, and IPL technologies.
You will learn to design and price branded aesthetic packages such as the Stem Cell Facial, Age Defiance Makeover, and Platinum Rejuvenation. The course covers strategic pricing, membership programs, and bundled treatment structures with typical patient session pricing ranging from $1,800 to $6,000.
Please refer to your state or regional licensing board. International attendees may participate through observation or anatomical model practice rather than live patient injection.
The course includes a full-color manual, treatment protocols, access to the Physician Portal with forms, consent templates, and marketing materials, pre-course virtual training access, tutorial videos featuring renowned instructors, and all medicines and supplies needed for the hands-on component.
This course is designed for nurses who have foundational PDO thread training and/or injectable experience. You should be comfortable with basic thread placement or neurotoxin/filler injection before attending. The program builds combination expertise on your existing procedural foundation. If you are new to PDO threads, Empire recommends completing foundational thread training first.
Combination treatments produce significantly superior and longer-lasting results compared to any single modality alone. PDO threads provide structural support and lifting while fillers add volume, neurotoxins relax opposing muscles, and biostimulators promote collagen regeneration. The synergistic effect creates comprehensive facial rejuvenation that patients cannot achieve from isolated procedures.
Combination PDO protocols generate $3,000-$8,000+ per session compared to $1,500-$3,000 for standalone thread lifts. The higher revenue reflects the superior outcomes patients receive and the advanced expertise required to deliver multi-modality treatments. Nurses who offer combination protocols typically see per-patient revenue increases of 100-200% compared to single-modality services.
Scope of practice varies by state. Nurse Practitioners (NPs) in many states have full independent practice authority including prescribing and administering injectables. Registered Nurses (RNs) typically require a collaborative or supervisory agreement with a physician. Empire's training provides the clinical certification; your ability to practice independently depends on your state nursing board regulations. Our team can help you understand the requirements in your state.
Nurses who complete procedural training can pursue roles in medical spas, dermatology practices, plastic surgery offices, pain management clinics, and regenerative medicine centers. Many NPs go on to open their own aesthetic practices. The combination of nursing clinical skills with procedural certification creates one of the most in-demand professional profiles in healthcare today.
Empire Medical Training's courses are CME/CE accredited through the ACCME, and the credits are recognized by state nursing boards nationwide for continuing education and license renewal purposes. The certification documents your hands-on training competency and can be presented to employers, credentialing committees, and malpractice insurance providers.
