Who is the Advanced PDO Thread Lift Course Intended for?

Admissions to Empire Medical Training are open to licensed healthcare professionals, including physicians, dentists, and nurses authorized to perform injection procedures. Prospective participants are encouraged to check with their respective licensing boards to determine eligibility for performing these procedures in their practice. For individuals who are not licensed healthcare professionals, participation is limited to observational learning through demonstrations of how these procedures are performed.

Certification Process

Empire Medical Training's PDO Thread Certification process is designed to ensure that you gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to perform PDO thread procedures safely and effectively. Here's what you can expect:

Pre-Course Preparation: Upon enrollment, you'll receive access to our comprehensive online learning portal. Here, you'll find pre-course materials to familiarize yourself with the basics of PDO threads and facial anatomy.
Intensive In-Person Training: The core of the certification process is our hands-on workshop. Over the course of the training, you'll participate in:
- Detailed lectures on PDO thread types, mechanisms of action, and patient selection
- Live demonstrations of various PDO thread techniques
- Hands-on practice sessions under expert supervision
Practical Assessment: During the workshop, you'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your skills on live models or advanced simulation equipment, receiving real-time feedback from our experienced trainers.
Theoretical Examination: To ensure a thorough understanding of the principles behind PDO thread procedures, you'll complete a comprehensive written exam covering all aspects of the course material.
Certification Award: Upon successful completion of both the practical assessment and theoretical examination, you'll be awarded your PDO Thread Certification from Empire Medical Training, recognized industry-wide as a mark of excellence.

Course Details

What Makes This Course Different?

Class sizes are limited to small groups where practitioners work very closely with the supervising Physician Instructor to perform techniques HANDS-ON.
As with all Empire Medical Training programs, our physician instructors are world class practitioners, practice owners, and expert in the area they are teaching. Nurse Practitioners who have demonstrated excellence in performing all Thread Lift techniques will also participate as instructors.
This advanced course will utilize threads of 18-19 gauge which includes V1 and V2 (molded Cog Threads).
During levels 1 and 2, practitioners spend more time learning how to place threads, this advanced workshop's focus will be on technique and understanding the various thread applications. The course will include use of the more robust threads for a variety of treatment areas and areas to provide more lasting results.
You will learn Reversed-Vector placements
- Understand technique, pros and cons
- When to use bi-directional or unidirectional barb configurations
Use of Clarius Handheld Ultrasound Scanner so you can see the threads after placement.
Small group course with attendees who already have taken previous thread courses and have experience in placing smooth and barbed PDO Threads. By having a small group of people, attendees should be able to see and learn more cases from a group setting and be trained as a small group preceptorship.

Management of Complications and how to treat possible adverse events.

Empire has developed this course to enhance the training already received in PDO Thread Lift training level 1 and 2, and better complement other aesthetic procedures presently being performed in your practice.

The course is taught by Board Certified Physicians and Specialists who have incorporated these procedures within their practice and will share their results and "injection pearls" in addition to reviewing the numerous vector diagrams, thread configurations, and how to create a full treatment and consultation. A full color manual and instructional videos illustrating the procedures are included through our Physician Portal.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this program, attendees will have a thorough understanding of the following concepts:

Acquire the necessary knowledge to identify potential patients who would substantially benefit from these innovative therapies.
Patient consultation and creation of a full aesthetic plan and treatment strategy to give patient options while delivering optimal results.
Successfully mark the patient pre-operatively before the injection and create the proper vectors to achieve the desired effect.
Review mechanism of action for PDO Threads and pertinent anatomy for better understanding of the threads both as product and procedure.
Identify the indications, precautions, and contra-indications (relative and absolute) for the advanced PDO Thread Lift procedures including product selection and candidate selection.
Learn and develop proper technique for placement and in creating a full treatment plan for various facial indications and become proficient in the placement of lower gauge (18-19G) threads for greater lifting in less forgiving areas.
Learn how combination therapies in conjunction with PDO Threads can create better aesthetic results depending upon patient presentation.
Develop the knowledge and be able to identify potential adverse events associated with the procedure and to avoid complications through training, injection skills, and proper technique.
Develop and incorporate protocols and SOP(s) for the various PDO Thread procedures.
Learn Pricing and Packaging for the procedures and marketing pearls to incorporate within your present practice.

Course Prerequisites

Empire Medical Training has created this Advanced PDO Thread Lift Training course for all physicians and nurse practitioners to help them broaden their skills in Aesthetics. Our objective is to teach practitioners safe injection and PDO Thread Lifting technique to help practitioners develop a successful aesthetics practice.

Course Prerequisites:

Trainees must have taken previous Thread Lift Training Levels 1 and 2, or equivalent. Trainees must have performed at least 4 thread lift procedures on patients subsequent to the workshop.
Trainees MUST accompany their own models for the training and provide follow up, post care. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to these guidelines as safety is our primary concern.
Empire Medical Training will not supply models for attendees. Trainees must be responsible for the results and provide aftercare to their models after thread treatments.
Trainees must send photos of their models with a treatment plan provided for pre-approval.
