Facial Assessment by Gregory Buford FACS

Sometimes the most difficult part associated with Botox and Dermal Fillers is not the procedure itself but having the patient take possession of their aesthetic options.  One way experienced physicians are able to assess patient needs is using the concept of A.R.T. – animate, rotate, and tilt.  By showing the patient how they present themselves in various angles and views (i.e. photography) you will be able to satisfy the aesthetic needs of the patient better and give correction to those concerns.  In many cases Botox and Dermal Fillers can satisfy these indications but at times this may lead to other aesthetic treatments and options.  The consultation process is a challenge in patients but if you use these simple to master concepts you will see a dramatic improvement in conversion and patient satisfaction:

  • Ask what concerns the patient
    • Listen to the patient and promote interaction
    • Concentrate on “Needs” not “Wants”
  • Ensure there are no contraindications
  • Evaluate using A.R.T. (photography or other type of imaging)
    • Access the various zones of the face
      • 8 Point Checklist for dermal fillers
      • Botox indications for upper 1/3 face and possibly lower 2/3 face
    • Make recommendations including limitations of the treatments
    • Ask for the business!
The 8-point lift is a new approach, utilizing (HA) dermal fillers for facial rejuvenation and shaping. The dermal filler procedure is administered throughout (8) distinct treatment areas as needed to achieve the most natural result and maintain each patient’s unique facial expressions.  This comprehensive, multimodal approach permits clinicians to develop aesthetic treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs and designed to produce a natural look.  The procedure recommends a sequence of injection and specific sites that should be adapted based on each patient’s profile and presentation to achieve the optimal outcome. The concept of A.R.T. allows for the patient to see themselves through animation, rotation, and facial position (tilt) which further confirms your proposed recommendations for treatment whether it is Botox or dermal fillers. Combination therapies work better than single modalities and offer to patient solutions not just treatments. Empire Medical utilizes and teaches these easy-to-understand concepts as part of your Botox Training and Dermal Filler Training as well as much more.  Consultations and creating relationships with patient leads to natural results, higher patient satisfaction, and enhanced patient care through better outcomes. Empower your patients to take possession of their aesthetic options and create their own individualized aesthetic treatment plan.  For more information on the A.R.T. of Botox and Dermal Fillers please contact us at (866) 333-6747 or read more at www.empiremedicaltraining.com .
