Who is the Sclerotherapy Training Course Intended for?

Admissions to Empire Medical Training are open to licensed healthcare professionals, including physicians, dentists, and nurses authorized to perform injection procedures. Prospective participants are encouraged to check with their respective licensing boards to determine eligibility for performing these procedures in their practice. For individuals who are not licensed healthcare professionals, participation is limited to observational learning through demonstrations of how these procedures are performed.

Certification Process

Our certification process is designed to ensure that participants gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to perform sclerotherapy safely and effectively. Here’s a detailed overview of the steps to achieve certification:

Registration and Pre-Course Preparation: Upon registering for the workshop, you’ll receive access to our state-of-the-art educational portal. Here, you’ll find pre-course materials, including video lectures, didactic presentations, and a full-color manual. Completing these materials is mandatory and provides a solid foundation for the hands-on training.
Online Assessment: Before attending the live workshop, you’ll need to complete a brief online assessment. This ensures you have a baseline understanding of key concepts and are prepared for the hands-on portion of the training.
Attendance at Live Workshop: Participate in our intensive 1-day workshop, which combines didactic lectures with extensive hands-on training on live patients. You’ll learn from board-certified physicians and experts in the field.
Hands-On Practical Assessment: During the workshop, you’ll be required to demonstrate proficiency in performing sclerotherapy treatments on live patients under expert supervision. Our instructors will assess your technique and provide feedback.
Final Written Examination: Complete a comprehensive written exam covering key concepts, safety protocols, and treatment guidelines.

Course Prerequisites

To ensure all participants are well-prepared for the intensive hands-on training, Empire Medical Training has established the following prerequisites for the Sclerotherapy Workshop:

Eligibility:

Active medical license as an MD, DO, NP, PA, RN, or other approved healthcare provider
Current malpractice insurance coverage
Basic understanding of vascular anatomy and physiology (refresher included in pre-course materials)

Pre-Course Preparation:

Online Educational Portal Access: Upon registration, you’ll receive login credentials for our state-of-the-art educational portal (mymembersportal.com).
Mandatory Pre-Course Materials: Complete all assigned pre-course video lectures, readings, and assessments. These materials cover:

Foundational venous anatomy and pathophysiology
Overview of sclerosing agents and their mechanisms of action
Introduction to basic injection techniques
Patient assessment and selection criteria
Safety protocols and complication management guidelines

Pre-Course Assessment: Successfully complete a brief online quiz to ensure baseline understanding of key concepts.
Review of Supplementary Materials: Familiarize yourself with provided treatment forms, consent forms, patient education materials, and before/after photo galleries.
Optional Virtual Training: Participate in scheduled live virtual sessions with instructors for additional Q&A and preparation.

Equipment and Attire:

Comfortable, professional attire suitable for performing injections
Closed-toe shoes
Reading glasses or magnifying loupes, if normally used for close-up work

Completing these prerequisites ensures that all participants begin the hands-on workshop with a solid foundation, allowing for a more advanced and productive learning experience. Live hands-on training session or lecture presentation (based on course requirements), led by Empire Medical Training’s physician faculty.
For courses with hands-on training, attendees will be in small group breakout sessions with live patients.
For courses with didactic training, attendees will participate in a comprehensive university-style lecture. Some courses will also feature anatomical models or live models to enhance the learning experience.

Breaks

Breaks will be provided throughout the day. Use this opportunity to mix and mingle with vendors and network with other attendees.
