The Pain Management & Advanced Pain Management programs are scheduled on consecutive days for your
convenience, and to maximize your training experience. Pain Management is a sought after and rewarding specialty due not only from the gratification generated from their patients
appreciation and relief of pain, but also because of the significant revenue generated from each interventional procedure. Most patients are gratified that there physician is able to
provide significant pain relief for them, especially since most of these patients have had other failed treatments.
Typical insurance reimbursement for multiple lumbar facet injections approximates $800 and when performed under fluoroscopic guidance increases an additional $70 per patient. As the typical
patient (who meets medical necessity guidelines) receives 2 diagnostic facet injections and 1 destructive facet procedure, revenue generated over a 3-4 week period may reimburse $3,000.
Private insurance and personal injury cases reimburse upwards of $4-$5,000 for the same.
Insurance companies continue to generously
pay physicians to perform interventional pain procedures. Pain Management is a cost effective method for helping patients and many times can eliminate the need for surgical intervention,
having obvious benefits for the patient and cost savings to the health industry. We urge all those performing these procedures to correctly document and demonstrate medical necessity. Also,
it is of the utmost importance to correctly follow Medicare and Local Insurance Guidelines for patient selection, the number and frequency of injections, and other criteria outlined by
these insurance providers.
This advanced program is intended for all specialists and Primary Care Physicians. You will learn to perform various interventional procedures under fluoroscopic guidance. Attendees should
have completed an introductory program or already have experience with interventional procedures. The program covers select procedures performed in the office setting using a C Arm for
Fluoroscopic needle localization.
Physicians will be instructed with Hands on Training utilizing cadavers from the local medical school university. Group sizes will remain small due to the intensive one-on-one training
planned for each attendee. Physicians will be required to demonstrate needle placement and localization on cadavers utilizing fluoroscopic guidance.
Physician attendees will learn to perform, and gain proficiency in Fluoroscopically guided procedures such as Cervical, Thoracic, and Lumbar Facet procedures, Diagnostic and Neurolytic
