A Recognition from Our Founder
In 1998, Dr. Stephen Cosentino founded Empire Medical Training on a belief few shared at the time: aesthetic medicine should not be reserved for a small circle of specialists. He pioneered aesthetic training for nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses and other licensed providers, opening a field that had been closed to them and breaking the glass ceiling that kept them out.
Today he leads Empire as CEO and President. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Nova Southeastern University and completed his Family Practice residency at Mt. Sinai in New York.
The Empire Legacy Award celebrates the legacy he started: clinicians who were given a door into aesthetic medicine, walked through it, and went on to transform their careers, their practices and the lives of their patients.

How to Record Your Video
Your phone is all you need, and your video doesn’t have to be perfect. You don’t need to edit anything. Our team takes care of that for you. What we care about is the substance of your story. Get the lighting right, speak from the heart, and we’ll handle the rest.
Shoot horizontal, at eye level
- Turn your phone sideways (landscape). Horizontal video looks best when stories are featured at the event and across the Empire network.
- Set the phone on a tripod or a stack of books so the lens is at your eye level, about 3–4 feet away.
- Frame yourself from the chest up and look into the lens, not at your own image on the screen.
Face the light
- Sit facing a window so soft daylight falls evenly on your face. Film during the day if you can.
- Never sit with a window or bright lamp behind you. It turns you into a silhouette.
- Turn off overhead lights that mix colors, and avoid harsh direct sun.
Get clear sound
- Choose a quiet room, close the door, and turn off fans, air conditioning and music.
- Put your phone on Do Not Disturb so a call or notification doesn’t interrupt the take.
- Stay within arm’s length of the phone, or use a clip-on microphone if you have one. Rugs and curtains help reduce echo.
Let your practice set the scene
- Film in your treatment room or office. Your space is part of your story.
- Tidy the background: clear clutter, open curtains, add a plant or your framed certificates.
- Keep patient charts, screens and identifiable patients out of frame.
Best settings on iPhone
- Open Settings → Camera → Record Video and choose 4K at 30 fps.
- Use the back camera for the sharpest image. The front camera works well if you’re filming alone.
- In the Camera app, tap and hold on your face to lock focus and exposure (AE/AF Lock).
- Wipe the lens with a soft cloth before you start.
Best settings on Android
- Open the Camera app, switch to Video, and tap the settings gear.
- Set Video size / resolution to UHD 4K at 30 fps. Menu names vary by phone.
- Tap on your face to set focus before you press record.

Your delivery & upload
- Talk the way you would to a colleague you respect: warm, natural and in your own words.
- Keep a few notes behind the phone if it helps, but don’t read a script.
- Record a 10-second test and play it back to check your light and sound.
- No editing needed. A stumble or a pause is fine; send us your take as it is.
- A 3-minute 4K video is usually well under the 2 GB limit. If storage is tight, 1080p HD at 30 fps is perfectly fine.
- Upload on Wi-Fi and keep this page open until it finishes.
