Standards of the Evening

Code of Conduct

The Art of the Face Event is a professional gathering of practitioners, practice owners, educators, and industry partners. The room only works because everyone in it commits to a single standard of conduct.

Our Commitment

Empire Medical Training is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and professional environment for every event attendee, speaker, sponsor, staff member, and partner — regardless of gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, age, medical specialty, practice setting, or seniority.

This Code applies to all event-related activities — the venue itself, social events surrounding the evening, official communications, and any sponsored gathering held under the Empire banner.

Expected Behavior

  • Treat every other attendee, speaker, sponsor, and Empire staff member with professional courtesy and respect.
  • Be considerate in conversation — assume good intent, listen as much as you speak.
  • Honor the confidentiality of practice-specific information shared in conversation and Q&A. What’s said in the room stays in the room unless the speaker says otherwise.
  • Disclose any commercial relationship clearly when discussing specific products, devices, or vendors.
  • Respect the venue, the staff, and the property of the Hyatt Centric Wall Street and any partner venue.

Unacceptable Behavior

Conduct that will not be tolerated at any Empire event or surrounding event includes (but is not limited to):

  • Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form — verbal, physical, or visual.
  • Unwelcome sexual attention, advances, or contact.
  • Personal attacks, slurs, or derogatory comments directed at any individual or group.
  • Deliberate disruption of programming, speakers, or other attendees.
  • Public sharing of confidential conversations, photographs, or recordings without consent.
  • Inappropriate use of nudity or sexualized imagery in any presentation, conversation, or attire.
  • Threatening, violent, or abusive language or behavior toward attendees, staff, or venue personnel.

Photography & Privacy

Empire-authorized photographers capture the evening for use in event recap materials. By attending, you agree to be photographed in general crowd and ambiance shots. If you'd prefer not to be photographed individually, please notify Empire staff at registration — we'll honor the request.

Personal photography of other attendees is permitted only with their explicit consent. Recording table conversations or speaker remarks is not permitted.

Consequences

Empire reserves the right to take any action it deems appropriate to address violations of this Code — including a private conversation, removal from a session or the venue, exclusion from current and future Empire events, and notification of relevant authorities where warranted. No refunds are issued for attendees removed for Code violations.

Reporting a Concern

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code, please report it immediately — every report is taken seriously and handled with discretion.

  • On-site: Any Empire staff member or the on-site events lead. Staff are clearly identified throughout the evening.
  • By email: [email protected] — monitored by Empire leadership.
  • By phone: Empire's events team is reachable 24 hours during the event window — the number is shared on RSVP confirmation.

All reports remain confidential to the extent possible, consistent with the action required to address the concern.

By attending The Art of the Face Event, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct and to support its enforcement for the protection of every other person in the room.
